Services
Professional Development: Locative Press provides online or on-site professional development/training services to schools and organizations who desire to use locative media tools to publish their own stories. We work with you to select appropriate third party tools that best fit your needs and budget, with many free tools available. Workshops can be arranged at field sites (e.g., a state historic site) to support locative geo-tagging or story outlining prior to finishing a story back in a lab setting. No-commitment quotes including any facilities charges available on request.

Instructional Design and Development: Locative Press provides instructional design and development services to organizations in need of a locative product. We provide a no-commitment consultation to discuss the stories you want to publish, before providing a detailed quote that includes costs associated with collecting and organizing content and media, story development using third party tools, and one-time or recurring software/hosting charges.

Web App: To address limitations we have seen in third party tools, we are working with Durham-based Pathos/Ethos to develop our own web/mobile app, and are actively seeking further grant and investment sources to meet this goal. Our product will allow story authors to publish locative media products with more interaction capabilities than typically seen, and story consumers to read stories online or in the context of a designated physical space. While our initial target market is K-12 and homeschool education, further applications in higher education and study abroad are clear, as well as potential non-fiction uses in different industry sectors such as tourism and real estate.
